The Pilot's Wife
A Novel
Author: Shreve, Anita

Anita Shreve's hauntingly beautiful #1 bestseller and Oprah's Book Club selection about tragedy, grief, betrayal, and the 'impossibility of knowing another person.'As a pilot's wife, Kathryn has learned to expect both intense exhilaration and long periods alone, but nothing has prepared her for a late-night knock that lets her know her husband has died in a crash.Until now, Kathryn Lyons's life has been peaceful if unextraordinary: a satisfying job teaching high school in the New England mill town of her childhood; a picture-perfect home by the ocean; a precocious, independent-minded fifteen-year-old daughter; and a happy marriage whose occasional dull passages she attributes to the unavoidable deadening of time. As Kathryn struggles with her grief, she descends into a maelstrom of publicity stirred up by the modern hunger for the details of tragedy. Even before the plane is located in waters off the Irish coast, the relentless scrutiny of her husband's life begins to bring a bizarre personal mystery into focus. Could there be any truth to the increasingly disturbing rumors that he had a secret life?

Come explore various tech equipment - 3D printer (Bambu), wireless virtual reality headset (Meta Quest 2), electronic cutting machine (Cricut), the button maker, electric sewing machines, laminator & photo printer - at our library.

What is the MakerSpace?
The Makerspace is the place where people can gather to learn, create and make 3D objects, craft projects, or anything that their creative mind desires.

What is a 3D printer?
A 3D printer can print three dimensional objects from a digital file. A 3D printed object is created using additive processes, in which tiny layers of the object are built from the bottom up.
You can download most 3D object models for free from thingiverse.com website, or you can download the free version of the graphic design software program called TinkerCad and create your own 3D objects.

What is a Virtual Reality (VR)?
Virtual reality is an artificial environment that is created with software and presented to the user in such a way that the user suspends belief and accepts it as a real environment.
The Meta Quest 2 is a virtual reality headset — our most advanced all-in-one VR system yet. From multiplayer games to unique social experiences to joining up with friends at a live show or instructor-led workout, Meta Quest 2 provides new opportunities to meet and connect with others in VR.

What is the Cricut?
The Cricut is a name-brand ultimate smart cutting machine. With its expandable suite of tools and advanced Rotary and Knife blades, Cricut gives you the freedom to make virtually any DIY project. It cuts hundreds of materials, from the most delicate fabric and paper to matboard and leather.

What is the Carvey?
