Coding Club for Grad
Sunday, Jul. 6, 12:00pm

Grades 4-8. Volunteers from the non-profit Impactt Kids will be here to introduce young learners to the exciting world of computer science in a fun and engaging way during bi-weekly meetings on Sundays at 12:00pm. By using simple block coding platforms, participants will explore fundamental programming concepts like sequencing, loops, and conditionals. Through hands-on activities and projects, students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and develop their problem-solving skills. Coding Languages: Scratch and Python.

Book Buddies

Teen volunteers will be at the library to read with elementary school children. Ideal for children who need to improve their reading skills. 
 
Chair Yoga / Yoga En

Chair yoga is a modified form of yoga that allows you to practice traditional yoga poses while sitting on or standing with the support of a chair. These modifications make yoga more accessible and more gentler for people with limited mobility and it’s a great way to stay active and maintain well-being. Taught by certified yoga instructor, Annette Wing, this free program is just for adults. 
Please note: The library is closed during this time, but the community room is open. Enter through the door near the book drop.

Chapter Book Club fo

Improve your reading comprehension over summer vacation by participating in book discussions and take home activity packs for a new chapter book biweekly. Ideal for grades 3-5. Younger readers may participate if their reading level is 3rd grade or higher. First come, first serve.
Book Buddies
Monday, Jul. 7, 2:00PM
This is a reading program for children entering 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grades who are reading below grade level.
One-on-one or small group sessions are led by a volunteer to help young readers develop the skills they need.

Meetings will take place Mondays and Wednesdays 2:00-3:00pm from June 9-July 23.

For the best results, children are encouraged to attend all sessions.

Coloring Club

Artists of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join us for a relaxing afternoon of coloring! Coloring materials such as colored pencils, crayons, alcohol markers, and coloring pages will be provided. Zen out or let your creativity and imagination soar!
This month's coloring club will feature coloring sheets revolving around a surprise theme!
 
Book Buddies
Monday, Jul. 7, 4-5 p.m. (Mondays, Wednesdays June 9, 11,16,18,23,25 July 7,9,14,16,21,23)

This will be a 6-week program from 6/9-6/27 and 7/7-7/25 Mondays and Wednesdays from 4pm-5pm.

We will have tutors availble to practice reading, writing and phonics skills with children grades kindergarden-3rd grade who can already read and need practice. 

Please register your children individually and plan on attending all sessions. 

If you or someone you know ages 14+ are interested in volunteering please reach out to the Cesar Chavez Library for further instructions.  
STEM Lab: Alien Inva
