All Ages. Keep up your reading skills over the winter and participate in the Winter Reading Challenge. The challenge is from December 1st-January 31st and simple to do! All you have to do is read books to win prizes. Logs can be submitted in-person or online. The more you read, the more opportunities you will have to win the prizes. Ready to make a high school student feel like Cinderella or Prince Charming?
The Stockton San Joaquin County Public library will be hosting prom/formal attire GIVEAWAYS at four locations in March and April, and all prom and formal goers will be invited!
Thanks to our friends at Project Princess, the library has secured over 1200 new prom dresses! But in order to make this a true fairy tale day, the library needs help from you!
Here is what we need from our Fairy Godparents:
If you have any new or gently used attire or accessories you are willing to part with, all library locations will be accepting donations from January 15th until February 15th.
If you have shoes, accessories, mens attire, you are willing to part with, we will accept it! We ask that clothing attire donated please be clean and free of stains.

From Jan. 13 - Feb. 21 read for 30 minutes a day (2.5 hours a week) or read 5 books a week to win 2 free tickets to a Stockton Ports baseball game and to join us for an on field parade!
This reading challenge is for kids k-8th grade (Ages: 5-13).

Focus is on literacy building blocks for baby's development through sharing picturebooks, board books, fingerplays, rhythm/rhyme, bounces, and simple songs. Above all it is a fun and interactive time for babies and caretakers facilitated by library staff. Sponsored by Tracy FOL and San Joaquin County.

This is every 3rd Tuesday of each month, except for special holidays and the meetings will be a week earlier. All supplies are included in this free program just for adults. This is an interactive program where early literacy skills are enhanced through songs, movement to music, and instruments. This program is intended for our littlest friends, 0-4 and their parents/caregivers. Afterward, stay and socialize with other grown-ups while the kids have play time if you'd like! The library is closed at this time, but the community room is open. Look for the side door to enter.

This interactive storytime includes books, music, dance, and fingerplays. It is designed for ages 3-5 and their caregivers; however, all are welcome. Storytime is an excellent way to introduce a love for books and develop important developmental skills.
