Love your library? Share it and earn an extra chance for summer reading prizes!
This summer, library patrons can take a photo of themselves with their JCPL library card, a JCPL book or item, or an ebook from JCPL’s OverDrive account and send it to the library for another entry in the prize drawing for your library’s summer reading program.
Email your selfie with your name, age and library branch to email@example.com, use our handy online form at http://www.myjcpl.org/contests/summer-selfies15 to upload your photo, or bring a print to your local library. Include your name, age and home library location and a phone number or email address to contact you if you win.
This contest is open to age 13 to adult, and good for one slip per patron.
Please be aware there is a library policy regarding photography and video on library property, and your photos or videos must honor that policy. Open to adults June 1 thru Aug. 3 and Teens June 1 thru July 15. Call 866-5881 with any questions.
BE A HERO AT the Rensselaer Library as a Summer Reading Volunteer. The Rensselaer Library is seeking young adults who are interested in becoming volunteers this summer. Teens age 11 and up are invited to attend a meeting Friday, May 29 at 10-11 am in the library’s Story Time Room. Those in attendance will pick up a schedule and learn more about the library’s Volunteer Program. Volunteers will also make their own superhero cape to wear while volunteering during this year’s Summer Reading programs. Teens who have not volunteered previously during the library’s Summer Reading Program should attend this meeting or call Volunteer Coordinator, Melissa Widner, at the library to make other arrangements. Teens in this program assist library staff, develop skills and friendships and earn unique prizes during the Summer Reading Program. Signups are available at the front desk in May. For more information, visit or call the Rensselaer Library, 866-5881.
